The law of God is an instruction manual for dominion.

From problem‑solver to owner

“If you do not have competency and character, get it. And then once you've got it, go take bold risks.”

  1. Learned business

His father taught him the basics through real estate, which David calls "business in slow motion."

  2. Studied operations

At a 400-person consulting firm he worked with manufacturers and fell for operating systems, which he calls "studies in dominion."

  3. Earned ownership

Armored Republic hired him to solve problems. Within a year he was CEO. He earned equity by creating value, then bought the company.

  4. Built institutions

To build stable Christian businesses, he expanded into manufacturing and construction. Today he serves as CEO, president, or chairman across the companies below.

The Ten Commandments, inside the company

“You start to lay out the Ten Commandments inside of the company.”

We've been given an instruction set by God. … If this is the rule set that shows us how to advance in life, and it has supernatural blessing upon it, I would suggest those are strategic advantages.

Management philosophy

  • CharacterCharacter is the true limiter of leaders. We believe that true wisdom builds character. The book of Proverbs is a God-given self-management and leadership wisdom manual.
  • BrandBrand is reputation. A company is valued by what people say about it. We focus on building reputation by directing marketing efforts toward earning and keeping a good name.
  • SpeedSpeed is essential. We focus on operational improvements that accelerate new product development and shorten the time to deliver what has already been sold.

Pastor at Puritan Reformed Church

David is lead pastor of Puritan Reformed Church in Phoenix. He preaches through whole books of the Bible, one passage at a time, at the Sunday morning and evening services.

He holds to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture in all of life, including business and investing. He is married to Katie, a father of six, and a grandfather of two.

“God wrote a book called the Book of Proverbs, and that book lays out wisdom for human interaction and for labor.”
